When the land of Canaan feels more like a hive of killer bees
Trusting God when the promise feels unsure.
Then they told him, and said: “We went to the land where you sent us. It truly flows with milk and honey, and this is its fruit. Nevertheless the people who dwell in the land are strong; the cities are fortified and very large.”
MMMM Honey. It is so good! No wonder God uses this sweet substance to define the land He promised to the Israelites. But let me tell you, the journey there was not an easy one.
Obstacles swarmed them. People stung them. Self-doubt buzzed so loud in their ears, they could hardly see straight. Land of Honey? Looks more like a hive of killer bees.
Yet, God still fulfilled His promise. He used the very thing that tried to destroy them to bring them to sweet victory.
Each one of us have our own Promised Land. But what if you only see bees? Swarms of past mistakes. The sting of unmet expectations. Unfulfilled dreams buzzing around in your head. The promise feels dead and buried.
That’s the time to take heart and beeeee hopeful.
God is big enough to redeem and transform the obstacles you encounter in life for good. He did it for Israel and He will do it for you.
Jesus takes the stings in life and turns them into something beautiful.
You can be confident in this – He who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it. And when He does, it will be oh so sweet.
